Railways had also taken a unique step to fight against coronavirus. A train of 24 coaches is being converted into isolation ward at Bilaspur coaching depot. As soon as it is built, the rake will be parked at the place where there is special arrangement for both electricity and water. The railway has identified the yard for this.

To fight against Coronavirus, the Indian Railways has issued order to convert train coaches into isolation wards. The South East Central Railway Zone has also received orders. Although the number of patients in the city is less. But in the view of current situation, it is necessary to make adequate arrangements in advance.
More isolation wards may be required in the coming time. In such a situation, the Railways will convert more coaches into an isolation wards. After the order, the work of converting a rake of 24 Non-AC coaches into isolation wards started in the coaching depot. According to the information, the door will be removed from the last partition in every coach.

In the non-AC coach, the stairs to climb to the upper third seat i.e. the upper berth are also being removed. Two bottle holders will also be installed in each cabin so that medical equipment can be kept easily. The charging slots of the coaches are also being modified. Apart from this, there is a preparation to install plastic curtains in every cabin. Separate cabins are being built in coaches for doctors, nurses and para medical staff.
